| Medals & Collecting |
Dr Peter and Ann Thompson have been collectors of historical and commemorative medals for over forty years. They established P&D Medallions about ten years ago. Peter and Ann are particularly interested in the medals of the seventeenth century Swiss engravers Jean and Jacques-Antoine Dassier and pre-1760 British medals. Peter’s book “The Dassier Family and its Medals” is now sadly out of print. They are happy to learn about your interests and to seek medals for your collection. Peter and Ann deal at the London Coin Fair regularly and would like to meet you there if you are able to attend. P&D Medallions has historical and commemorative medals of fine quality from most parts of the world including Africa, Europe, North and South America and Russia. The medals mainly commemorate national, royal and civic events but others commemorating exhibitions and the work of famous people are normally available. P&D Medallions deals in medals from the earliest to the present date. It has a small stock of medals in art nouveau, art deco and other modern art styles. P&D Medallions has a wide client base in Europe and the USA but is prepared to ship medals to any part of the world. Neddy Allen Neddy Allen of London regularly offers medals for sale on this website. She learnt about medals from her husband Peter ' Maundy' Allen over forty years ago and has been an active dealer since 1968. Her knowledge of medals of all periods and types is second-to-none. She tells us that “Neddy” is a fun name given to her by her husband. She has attended coin fairs in New York and is regularly seen as a dealer at the London Coin Fair. She is noted for her collection of rare and sought after medals. There are few collectors who do not know Neddy and who have not brought medals from her at sometime in the past. Neddy has also sold many important medals to major museums in the United Kingdom. All know Neddy for her sense of fun and the fact she can be relied upon to come up with the rare and genuine item. You will find her medals labelled “offered for sale by Neddy Allen” in the catalogue. |
