1685 - James II by George Bower SOLD

This rare struck silver medal by George Bower is thought to have been issued to commemorate the coronation of James II on the 23rd April 1685 (MI I 607/11). The reverse shows Britannia seated holding a spear and shield. The Latin legend on the reverse reads, 'No Deity is Absent and Should be in the Mind of the Reader'. The diameter is 29 mm and the condition Good Very Fine. This medalhas been sold.
