1683 - Charles II, Presentation Medal SOLD

This rare and beautifully executed silver medal by John Roettier was given by Charles II as presents to important visitors and struck in about 1683 (MI I 595/277). The reverse shows the King's arms within the Garter, supported by the lion and unicorn. The motto on the small scroll reads, 'DIEV. ET. MON. DROIT'. The diameter is 53 mm and the condition better than Extremely Fine. This medal has been sold.
