1888 - Russia, Alexander III, Borki Train Disaster Sold

This impressive large bronze medal by A. Criliches commemorates the miraculous escape of Alexander III of Russia and his family in the Borki train disaster on the 29 October 1888 (Diakov 1010). The obverse shows Alexander praying before St Andrew, the Patron Saint of Russia, with an image of the train disaster in the exergue. The reverse show Alexander and the Russian Royal Family.
