1624 - James I: Badge SOLD

This very attractive silver medal is a badge probably made to distribute amongst the favourites of the Court of James I in 1624 (MI i 235/99). The example for sale is a very rare electrotype copy of this unique medal. There is only one original cast example know which is in the British Museum. The copy is signed R on the edge and was probably made by Ronald Ready, British Museum, in the late 19th century. The dimensions of the medal are 59mm (including the loop) x 42mm and the condition is practically mint. This is a very rare opportunity for a collector to acquire this medal.
