1633 - Charles I, The Official Scottish Coronation Medal SOLD

This silver medal by Nicholas Briot commemorates the Scottish coronation of Charles I, which took place on the 18th June 1633 in Edinburgh (MI i 266/60). The reverse shows a thistle and a rose tree combined, the Latin legend reads, 'Hence have our roses grown'. The edge is plain. The diameter is 29mm and the condition Good Very Fine. The tone is attractive.
