1620 - James I and Prince Charles Sold

This silver medal struck in imitation of an engraving on a thin flan by Simon van de Passe is one of the series which commemorates the monarchs of England (MI I 376/272). The obverse shows James I in a broad brimmed hat, the legend reads,' GIVE THY JUDGEMENT O GOD UNTO THE KING'. The reverse shows the young Prince Charles without a bread, the legend reads, 'AND THY RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO THE KINGS SONNE'. The medal was struck in about 1620. The diameter is 27 mm and the condition Good Very Fine. This medal has been sold.
